Inoda & Sveje

Considering as many different options as possible for subjects to re-brand, this design duo based in Denmark seemed like an interesting choice with a lot of scope. They design for so many different aspects it may be possible to create a system of sub brand identities and publications for each range.

Problems with existing brand
  1. - Lacking a strong visual identity
  2. - Website is confusing and hard to navigate
  3. - Possibly no printed collateral / branding
  4. doesn't represent the quality of the work

Inoda + Sveje
  • "Inoda + Sveje is a design duo comprising Kyoko Inoda, born in Osaka in 1971, and Nils Sveje, born in Denmark in 1969. Inoda studied architectural design at ISAD in Milan. Sveje graduated from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, School of Architecture. Sveje moved to Italy where he worked under Stefano Giovannoni, and then returned to Denmark. While working at the Institute of Product Development (IPU) Sveje joined forces with Inoda and formed Inoda + Sveje in Copenhagen in 2000. They moved their base of operations to Milan in 2003. In addition to furniture and other product design, Inoda + Sveje is involved in other fields such as medical devices and speakers."

  • "Research and define:
In this phase we will try to make a clear image of the task ahead. We will define the product to be designed with a few words. We will also try to pinpoint important details of added value and roughly the materials involved."

This is a really nice statement that I think underpins many of their final outcomes and might be an interesting aspect to work with typographically. These images are just a few of the items from their website...

Website design for homepage...
