After the meeting earlier last week it was suggested we look at this publication from from NeubauLaden in Berlin. The publication features info graphic style vectors formatted beautifully in a two colour publication with a disk including the different images. This approach was something we felt would be appropriate to really push the info graphic style of the Yearbook.
Clean info graphic style and aesthetically pleasing combination of the spot colour and black.
-
Also the over all composition between the text and images works really well utilising the vibrant spot colours to being attention to the smaller bits of information on the page. A simple black and white colour scheme would be far less enticing.
Interesting typographic spreads, interesting combinations of the different spot colours marking out each section of the book.
-
How can other visual markers be put in place to further play with the publication format. Once I have gathered some more feedback from peers it will be easier to approach the spreads and general content of the publication.
Interesting compositions between the different vectored images are displayed in the back of the publication. A suggestion towards other applications of the vectored shapes in the publication.
-
Creating pages like this will references through either QR codes or links to the website might be a nice approach, resulting in more image based spreads, this will probably be more directed towards Dom given his approaches in creating imagery.
How could we include a disk or other more interactive element that works in unison with the content of the book.
-
Disks are realtively low cost from what I know but working with an online based resource would mean people could work with it at New Blood as well as people who don't have access to the yearbook as a whole.
-
Exploring motion graphics was another suggestion that was raised during the meeting... Something I would enjoy exploring and again would work well with the info graphic approach to the publication.
