After the briefing for the yearbook the direction has changed slightly from the original layout ideas. But the suggested ideas and direction can produce some really interesting ideas. Using an infographic aesthetic and format that refers to an online presence of the book could work really well. Also when tying in the branding for the event with D&AD it opens up a lot of possibilities.

The book is about visualising information in graphic design, and there were a few spreads and projects that immediately grabbed my attention.
Apart from the beautiful infographics on this book, the body copy is so well set and really adds a huge level of value to the book. I want to consider how to fit in the body copy (as this will be my main role) to work with the different information. I will start creating grids to see how I can progress with the brief.
These abstract shapes mapping out the UK are really inspirational and drive me to think of more conceptual approaches to representing the information and values of the course.
This graphic maps out different wines, their region and tastes. Applying a similar approach to where everyone is from might be an interesting info graphic.

Another thought I gathered from this was how to map everyone's focus in design using symbols, or abstract maps using each focus as an area? ~ I will expand on this thought in a practice post.
